Behind the Design: The Neil Sticker and Our Seasonal Tee Series

Every design in the current drop starts from the same brief: it has to feel like Neil. Not a generic seal โ€” the seal. The one who naps through traffic jams, collects safety cones like trophies, and returns to Tasmania every season like a scaly, one-tonne homing pigeon (he is not scaly; the metaphor got away from us).

The collector's sticker: local artist, die-cut vinyl

The Official Collector's Sticker was designed by a local Tasmanian artist, and it shows Neil doing what made him famous: sitting proudly beside his orange cone. It's die-cut and printed on thick, weatherproof vinyl that shrugs off rain, scratches, and Tasmanian sun โ€” built for car bumpers, laptops, water bottles, and notebooks.

Demand for the first batch caught us off guard (we should have known better โ€” this is Neil), so it's currently a limited pre-order while we get the next batch ready. And once yours arrives: display it with pride and post it with #neilthesealofficialsealofapproval โ€” five people will be drawn to win a complete Neil wardrobe including hats, hoodies, and our new tees.

The seasonal tee series: printed once, never again

The three limited tees โ€” Neil on the Beach, Cones, and Portrait โ€” celebrate Neil's seasonal return to Tasmania. The rule of the series is simple: every season gets brand-new exclusive designs, and once a season's pre-orders close, those designs are never printed again. This season's beach, cones, and portrait artwork is this season's only run.

Each tee is a premium heavyweight cut in white, navy, and black, sizes Sโ€“XXL (there's a full size guide on every product page). They're made to order, which is also why they take a little longer โ€” we're a small team, please be nice ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Where the money goes

A portion of proceeds from every order โ€” stickers, tees, and the limited-edition plushie โ€” goes to marine wildlife conservation initiatives in Tasmania. Elephant seals were wiped out of Tasmania by sealers in the early 1800s, and the species is still listed as vulnerable in Australia; Neil is a rare, hopeful exception. Read more about the species in our southern elephant seal facts article, or see our conservation page for the full picture.
